| Issue: | The manufacturer has identified a stability issue affecting the quality control material lots listed above. Investigation found that Triglycerides, Phosphorus, and Magnesium values increase over time after the vial is thawed and opened (open-vial stability). Magnesium values also decrease over the product's shelf life. Use of affected quality control lots may result in QC shifts for the impacted analytes, which could require laboratory investigation, repeat testing, or use of alternate control material with subsequent temporary operational delays related to QC investigation. Laboratories are expected to monitor QC data over time, evaluate new control lots before routine use, and follow established procedures to prevent interruption of critical services. |
