| Issue: | 21/10/26: Update - The manufacturer issued an app security update for the Libre app on October 16. Since then, Abbott found that this update may cause some users to experience extended signal loss, meaning their sensor loses connection with the app and doesn't reconnect. If this happens, a user app may not receive glucose readings, which may lead to missed alarms and/or treatment decisions. As of October 18, Abbott is not aware of any unauthorised access related to this vulnerability The manufacturer has identified a potential security vulnerability affecting the Libre app. This problem could only be activated by someone in close proximity to a person's device and cannot be activated remotely over the internet. As of 9-Oct-2026, the manufacturer is not aware of any unauthorised access to a patient's app in relation to this vulnerability, and there have been no reports of adverse events. |
