Update to Therapeutic Product Database Reports

From 1 February 2012, all products gazetted will display the approved indication(s) of the medicine in the Therapeutic Product Database Report (TPDR). The indications(s) will also be displayed on the website under the Medsafe Product Detail.

This change to the published information is in response to enquiries from healthcare professionals regarding approved indications, particularly for over-the-counter products. It is also anticipated that electronic recording of indications will facilitate a rapid comparison of products approved in Australia and New Zealand.

Medsafe intends to backfill indications for medicines approved as of 1 January 2010 during the next few months.

Every company will be given the opportunity to confirm that the information in the updated TPDR is correct before it is published.
