Absolute Risk - Linking Lipids, Luck and Lifestyle
This 16 minute video was produced by the Ministry of Health in 1997. As the title suggests, the video discusses the concept of absolute risk and includes information on the role of lipids in plaque formation, types of hyperlipidaemia and practical advice for doctors on how to help patients make lifestyle changes.
CMI Posters
Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) is information about medicines, written for consumers. Use this A3-sized poster in your pharmacy or surgery to inform consumers about the availability of free CMI on the Medsafe web site.
Oral Contraceptives and Blood Clots
In March 2002, Medsafe updated and distributed the patient information leaflet on oral contractives and blood clots.  Bulk copies are still available, at no charge, from Wickliffe.
Prescribing Medicines in Pregnancy - an Australian categorisation of risk of drug use in pregnancy
This booklet, published by the Australian Drug Evaluation Committee, is currently being updated.  It will become a web-based resource containing more complete and relevant information to be taken into account by health professionals and patients in reaching difficult and complex decisions about use of medicines in pregnancy.  At present, there is no warranty that the information in the booklet is accurate, comprehensive or up-to-date.  Therefore, health professionals and patients should make independent inquiries, and obtain appropriate advice, before relying on the information in any important matter.
